Hanging baskets offer an easy way to raise the level of flowers and greenery around your home. It’s tempting to just hang the plant in its plastic pot on a hook under your eave or the roof of your porch; but if the container is above your head, you’ll see as much of the bottom of the pot as the plant that’s in it. To fully appreciate the beauty of the hanging plant, consider lowering the hanging basket with an S-hook, chain, shepherd’s hook, or bracket so you can enjoy more than just the tips of the trailing stems.
Another consideration is the plastic pot itself, which may not always be an aesthetic asset. It’s easy to repot the plant from a hanging basket into a more suitable wire basket with a coir liner. When repotting, choose a larger basket to give your plants more of everything they need to grow.
